| Prax Capital, established in 2003, is an independent private equity firm dedicated to managing China-focused investments. Our Chinese and Western partners form a cohesive team with complementary backgrounds and experience in the entrepreneurial, industrial and financial fields in Asia, the Americas and Europe. We have on average more than 15 years of hands-on manufacturing, operational, managerial and investment experience in Greater China. Our execution team is based in Shanghai and as of 2008 includes twenty Chinese professionals with extensive investment experience in Mainland China.
The name of our firm, Prax, comes from the Greek word praxis which means action, deeds. We seek proactively adding and creating value for our invested companies and partners.
Prax Capital has been growing rapidly. Currently we have approximately USD300 million of assets under management in two growth capital funds and one real estate fund. Prax Capital was among 2007 Best Private Equity Firms in China by both Zero2IPO and ChinaVenture. Mr. Jeff Yao, our Partner, was in the list of 2007 Forbes China Best Venture Capitalists.
Our growth capital funds invest typically in minority stakes in growth-stage industrial and service companies that have the potential to be listed in a public stock market within three years of our investment.
Our real estate fund partners with leading local and regional developers with a focus on residential projects, normally in second-tier cities.
