| At Prax Capital we believe that capital should not be limited to investment opportunities but should also benefit society. Each year, we contribute a percentage of our profits to Prax Capital Charitable Foundation, which was established to contribute towards the social community through the support of educational programs and to encourage environmental protection. Although the majority of funds are contributed by the company, our directors and employees as well as our limited partners have also made donations.
We look to cooperate with organizations and institutions with consistent aims and objectives, such as the New Great Wall Project of the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation, the Million Tree Project of Shanghai Roots and Shoots and The Library Project.
Through the New Great Wall Project, Prax Capital Charitable Foundation provided assistance to underprivileged university students to allow them to pursue their studies. Our investment in these students extends to Prax employees spending weekends visiting and speaking with students from various universities with the ultimate goal of seeing these students through graduation.
Through the Million Tree Project, Prax Capital Charitable Foundation donated and planted trees to help stop the desertification in Inner Mongolia and help offset China¡¯s greenhouse emissions.
Through The Library Project, Prax Capital Charitable Foundation donated books and libraries to under financed rural elementary schools and Migrant Children Centers.
Prax is committed to environmentally responsible investments as well as socially responsible investments in the Chinese society.
